Heart Shaped Engagement Rings
A heart shaped diamond is the hardest brilliant cut to execute — two matched lobes, a crisp cleft and a point, all cut symmetrically from one stone — which is why a well-made heart diamond ring is rarer than its popularity suggests. It is also the most literal love symbol in jewellery. Our heart engagement rings run from $862 to $4,177 across 57 designs.
Heart shaped ring styles
A heart shaped diamond ring reads best above one carat, when the outline is unmistakable at arm's length. Set it in a solitaire to keep the silhouette clean, or a halo to sharpen the shape — both keep the point protected in a V-prong.
Lab-grown, IGI-certified
Symmetry is everything in heart rings, and lab-grown stones deliver it affordably — the same hardness and fire as mined, certified by IGI, at prices that let the diamond heart ring you actually want fit the budget.

Buying a heart shaped diamond that reads clearly
Three checkpoints define a good heart: the cleft between the lobes should be sharp and centred, cutting decisively toward the middle rather than a soft dip; the two lobes must be identical twins in height and curve; and the point should align exactly with the cleft above it. Hold any candidate stone upside down — asymmetry that hides right-side-up jumps out immediately when inverted.
Keep the ratio near 1.00 — between 0.95 and 1.05 — so the heart reads neither stretched nor squat. Setting-wise, three prongs (one per lobe, one V-cap at the point) show the most outline; five add security for daily wear. And orient it point-down toward the knuckle — the universal convention — so the shape reads instantly to anyone glancing at the hand.
Heart shaped ring FAQs
What is a heart cut diamond ring?
A heart cut diamond ring holds a modified brilliant cut shaped into two lobes, a cleft and a point — technically one of the hardest outlines to cut with true symmetry.
What carat works best for a heart shaped engagement ring?
One carat and up — below that, a heart shaped engagement ring can read as a round at a distance. The outline needs a little size to announce itself.
Is a heart shaped ring classic or trendy?
Both, honestly — the heart shaped ring has centuries of royal history, went quiet for decades, and is now back on major red carpets. It polarises; that is part of its charm.
Do heart shaped rings need special care?
Just one thing: the point. Our heart shaped rings protect it in a V-shaped prong — with that in place, the shape wears as well as any other brilliant cut.
How symmetrical should a heart shaped diamond be?
Perfectly — fold a heart shaped diamond down the middle in your mind and the halves should mirror. Symmetry is the single quality worth paying for in this shape.
What pairs with a heart ring?
Heart shaped earrings and heart diamond earrings echo the motif without repeating it — or keep the ears simple with studs and let the ring carry the theme.
