What to know before buying a radiant cut diamond
Ratio is your first lever because the radiant comes in two very different looks. A length-to-width ratio near 1.00–1.05 gives a square radiant — chunky, modern, reads like a sparkly princess with softer corners. A ratio of 1.25–1.40 gives an elongating rectangle that flatters the finger and looks larger for its weight. Decide square or rectangle first; they are almost different shapes on the hand. Anything past 1.50 starts to look thin.
The radiant's brilliant faceting is its superpower and its trap.
